Breaking Ground!
It’s been a long time coming, but we finally broke ground on Tuesday, April 21st. Ol’ Blue Direworks is doing the excavation and has started scraping the lot and grading the driveway so we can get trucks and materials to the jobsite. After a dismal winter, it is no surprise that Mother Nature decided to bring colder weather and snow to Crested Butte! It is much-needed moisture, so I’m not complaining. This paused any dirtwork last week, but the team should be back at it on Monday. I am super impressed with the team at Ol’ Blue Dirtworks.
Thomas is in the mini excavator, and Stevie is running the skid steer. Starting to bring structural fill in for the driveway.
We preserved as many Aspens as possible. This was one of the reasons we bought this lot. The grove is really healthy and will provide great afternoon shade from the West sun. Our back deck will be very comfortable in the summer and fall!
The house will tuck into the Aspens. Red ribbon = keepers!
Well, that’s all for now. Not too much to report, but exciting nonetheless! More updates to follow as we get more of the excavation completed and prepare for the foundation.
